Meet Your CPR Instructor

My name is Dr. German Criollo,

I am a certified CPR instructor with over 15 years of experience. Originally from Colombia, I moved to Mexico to pursue a career in medicine and eventually relocated to the U.S. to focus on teaching CPR and health education. I am passionate about equipping people with lifesaving skills and offer classes in both Spanish and English. Currently, I teach CPR courses at City Colleges of Chicago and am a full-time faculty member at St. Augustine College.

The Heart Behind Lifeguard CPR

Salvavidas CPR was founded by Dr. German Criollo, a certified instructor with over 15 years of experience, to provide high-quality CPR and First Aid training to diverse communities. We specialize in working with daycares, education centers, and organizations requiring certification for staff, particularly those working with children. Offering bilingual courses in Spanish and English, our mission is to empower individuals to confidently respond in emergencies and create safer environments for all.

I earned my MD in Biological and Physical Sciences from Universidad Veracruzana, Veracruz, Mexico (1986-1992). My thesis, "Advances in Laboratory Physiology," reflects the strong foundation I gained in medicine and sciences, which I've applied throughout my career.

Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation, Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

2006-2010

I earned my Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Northeastern Illinois University, focusing on kinesiology and exercise science. My studies included hands-on experience in physiological testing and cardiac rehabilitation, culminating in a thesis on Advances in Laboratory Physiology under Dr. Ardies, Ph.D. This program enhanced my research, analytical, and exercise prescription skills, preparing me for roles in health and rehabilitation.

Dr. German Criollo: Bilingual CPR Instruction from a Certified Expert

Dr. German Criollo is a certified CPR instructor with over 15 years of experience in teaching lifesaving techniques. Born in Colombia and raised in a multicultural environment, Dr. Criollo first pursued a career in medicine in Mexico before moving to the United States. His dedication to education led him to become a full-time professor at St. Augustine College (recently merged with Lewis University) and a CPR instructor at the Chicago City Colleges.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, Dr. Criollo is passionate about making CPR education accessible to diverse communities. He conducts American Heart Association certified courses in both languages, ensuring that students of all backgrounds can gain the critical skills they need to save lives. Whether you prefer instruction in English or Spanish, Dr. Criollo's extensive experience and engaging teaching style make his classes invaluable for healthcare professionals, businesses, and individuals alike.
